This Privacy Policy describes the information about you that we collect through the Websites, and how that information is used, maintained and, in some cases, shared.

In order to fully understand your rights we encourage you to review this Privacy Policy. By using or accessing the Websites, you agree to this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, do not use or access the Websites.

We may, from time to time, revise or update this Privacy Policy.  This may include making changes to the way we collect, maintain and store information.  If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post notice of the modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page.  Please check the “Last Modified” legend at the top of this page to see when this Privacy Policy was last revised. Changes will become effective no sooner than fourteen days after they are posted.  Nevertheless, if the changes are required by law, then they will be effective immediately. What Information We Collect About You and How We Use It

Information You Provide to Us

Tapco gathers and retains personal information about you when you voluntarily submit it to us.  For example, if you choose to complete and submit one of the forms located on our “Registration” page or “Contact Us” page, we will retain the data you submit to respond to your inquiry and consider your request.  After we have responded to your inquiry and/or considered your request, the information you submitted will be retained for our records.  Similarly, if you register a warranty, all of the data you submit will be retained.

URLs and IP Addresses

Like many other websites, we collect information about users’ utilization and navigation of the Websites. This information helps us to design the Websites to better suit our users’ needs. For example, the Websites will track the URL that you visited before you came to the Websites, the URL to which you next go and your Internet Protocol (IP) address. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer the Websites. Your IP address also is used to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information.

Like most websites, we employ cookies on certain pages of the Websites. Cookies make using the Websites easier by, among other things, saving your preferences for you. We may also use cookies to deliver content tailored to your interests. Our cookies may enable us to relate your use of the Websites to personally identifying information that you previously submitted. If your browser is set to reject cookies, or if your browser notifies you that you are about to receive a cookie and you reject it, then your use of the Websites may not be as efficient or as enjoyable as it would be if the cookie were enabled. The information that we collect with cookies allows us to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to statistically analyze usage of the Websites, and to improve and customize our content and other offerings. However, we only disclose information collected with cookies to third parties on an aggregated basis without the use of any information that personally identifies you.

Social Networking Activities

The Websites include the ability for you and other users to link to social networking websites.  As a result, we receive information about you when you choose to post or otherwise share information about our Websites on these social networking websites.  We may use such information about you in a variety of ways, including to administer the Websites and enhance your experience with the Websites, and to communicate with you about the Websites and new offerings associated with the Websites. We may keep all of this information indefinitely.

Before you can utilize some portions of the Websites, we will require that you register and provide us with your first name, last name, address, telephone number and email address, and generate a password. This registration information will be used for identification purposes, to communicate with you regarding your account with us, and to facilitate the functioning of the Websites. We may keep all of this information indefinitely.

When Personal Information Will Be Shared or Disclosed

We will not share, rent, sell or otherwise disclose any of the personally identifiable information that we collect about you through the Websites, except in any of the following situations:

We may use the information we collect from you to fulfill your requests, communicate with you about our products and other matters, manage the Websites, provide targeted advertising to you and conduct research and analysis.
We may disclose information that we collect about you to our third-party contractors and payment processors who perform services for us in connection with the Websites, or to complete or confirm a transaction or series of transactions that you conduct with us. We may also disclose information to our franchisees or distributors and to service providers or suppliers if the disclosure will enable that party to perform business, professional or technical support for us.
We may disclose the results of aggregated data about you for marketing or promotional purposes. In these situations, we do not disclose to these entities any information that could be used to personally identify you. Certain information, such as your password, is not disclosed to marketing advertisers at all, even in aggregate form.
We may disclose information about you as part of a merger, acquisition or other sale or transfer of the assets or business of Tapco. We do not guarantee that any entity receiving such information in connection with one of these transactions will comply with all terms of this Privacy Policy.
We may be legally obligated to disclose information about you to the government or to third parties under certain circumstances, such as in connection with illegal activity on the Websites, or to respond to a subpoena, court order or other legal process. We reserve the right to release information that we collect to law enforcement or other government officials, as we, in our sole and absolute discretion, deem necessary or appropriate.

We may share aggregated or anonymous information that cannot identify you with third parties. For example, we may disclose the number of visitors to the Websites or the number of people who have downloaded a particular document.

If you access the Websites from outside of the United States, information that we collect about you will be transferred to servers inside the United States and maintained indefinitely, which may involve the transfer of information out of countries located in the European Economic Area. By allowing us to collect information about you, you consent to such transfer and processing of your data.

Opting Out of Communications

If you no longer want to receive marketing-related emails from Tapco on a going-forward basis, you may opt out of receiving marketing-related emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email newsletter you receive, or, if you created an online account when you registered to receive our emails, you may log in to your account and make changes to your communication preferences. If you are having difficulty unsubscribing from our marketing communications using the above methods, please contact us directly at the email or phone number listed below under Contact.

Please allow ample time for us to process your request. However, please note that even if you opt out from receiving marketing communications, we may need to send you service-related communications and may need to keep information we have collected about you for record-keeping, research and other purposes.

To help protect the privacy of data you transmit through the Websites, where personally identifiable information is requested, we use technology designed to encrypt the information that you input before it is sent to us. In addition, we take steps to protect the user data we collect against unauthorized access. However, you should keep in mind that the Websites are run on software, hardware and networks, any component of which may, from time to time, require maintenance or experience problems or breaches of security beyond our control.

Please also be aware that despite our best intentions and the guidelines outlined in this Privacy Policy, no data transmission over the Internet or encryption method can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Links to Other Websites

We do not endorse and are not responsible for the information practices or privacy policies of websites operated by others that may be linked to our Websites, including the websites of our franchisees and distributors.  If you decide to access a third party’s website that may be linked to these Websites, you should consult that website’s privacy policy. This Privacy Policy governs only information that we collect through the Websites, and not websites, services or applications that do not link to this Privacy Policy or that are maintained or controlled by other companies or organizations, including third party websites linked to from the Websites. The inclusion of a link or reference on the Websites does not imply endorsement of the linked site by use.

Children’s Privacy

If you are under the age of 18, please do not use or access the Websites in any way.  We will not knowingly collect or use any personal information from any child under the age of 18.  It is not our intention to collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age.  If we become aware that we have collected any personal information from children under the age of 18, we will promptly delete such information from our databases.

California Privacy Rights

Under California law, a California resident with whom we have an established relationship has the right to request certain information with respect to the types of personal information we have shared with third parties for their direct marketing purposes, and the identities of those third parties, within the immediately preceding calendar year, subject to certain exceptions. All requests for such information must be in writing and sent to us at the mailing address set forth below.
